3 Ways to Celebrate Valentine’s Day with Your Littles

Valentine’s day is one of my most favorite holidays! I remember waking up to heart shaped pancakes and treats from my mom on February 14th, and it was the very best. I still look forward to the care package I get from my mom the week of valentine’s days. It has been so fun to see her continue that with her children and grandchildren. This year, I took some notes from her and celebrated the upcoming holiday with my toddler in the best ways I know how- with treats, crafts and spending time with our loved ones.

Here are 3 Valentine’s Day activities you can do with your littles this week!

Make Valentines for Grandma and Grandpa.

The best gift you can give to the people who love your kids, whether its their aunties, grandparents, is a homemade valentine. My sister and I both live in Utah County and get together often. Our two children are number 9 and 10 in our family as far as grandchildren. Since they are the babies of the family, they are doted on by all their aunties and especially their grandma and grandpa. My sister and I got together and made valentines for all of them. We bought cards from crying onions, took a few polaroids of them to put inside the cards, and let them color all over them. It was so cute seeing our two little girls sitting at the table doing it together. Our families have all received them, and they loved it!

Make Heart Shaped Cookies to Share

The other best kind of valentine is one you can eat. Get over the mess and let your kids have at it with the sprinkles and frosting. Our little girls were so cute with decorating the cookies and were quite focused. With as many sprinkles in their mouth as the floor, it was a fun way to spend the afternoon.

Make a Play Date

Our kids need play dates to get the wiggles out and we moms need playdates to talk to another adult. A win win. Our play date was with my sister and her daughter, but on the 14th were having another playdate with one of my friends I haven’t seen in a while.

Of course, we were wearing our Olivia J socks and tights for our activities. My daughter is wearing the little love tights and they are the cutest thing. I’ve tried to match them with as many things as I could the past week getting maximum wear out of them. My niece is wearing the all-smiles socks, which are brand new and so stinking cute.

However, you celebrate valentine’s day, just remember to make sure someone knows that you love them.
